Spring '23 Season Recap

Supporters of Middlebury Club Soccer,

We are happy to announce the conclusion of another successful MCS season. We want to thank our supporters and members who have made this season possible.

This season began with great enthusiasm as A & B were prepared to play a number of games against regional teams such as UVM and Dartmouth. However, in mid-March, Student Activities informed us that Tier 3 clubs could not play any scrimmages in our offseason due to staff and resource shortages.

With this unfortunate news, we canceled our games and pivoted to intra- and inter-squad scrimmages. We organized practices multiple times a week (including multiple 6AM sessions) and hosted a range of social events (dye tourney, screw, Prom, etc.)

We are also happy to announce that many MCS members participated in an 8v8 men’s league in Shelburne and brought home the first trophy in MCS history – many more to come!

Further, MCS has started its philanthropic efforts by volunteering to cook meals on Fridays for the community supper at the Congregational Church. By the end of the semester, MCS helped pay for and prepare over 1000 meals for families in need.

With the spring coming to an end, MCS is loading up for a fantastic fall season. After a competitive election process, we are happy to announce the MCS executive board for the fall:

Co-Presidents

Blaise Siefer (23.5)

Marco Fengler (23.5)

A Team Captains:

Josh Rosenstein (24)

Cyrus Perkinson (25)

Stock Stockholm (26.5)

We will keep you updated as we look to fill several positions including Social Couch, B team captains, and a new position Community Engagement and Alumni Outreach. Looking forward, we expect to compete in the Region I league in the fall and make a push for regionals.

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la,

Evan Iskenderian '25

MCS-A Captain, Alumni Coordinator
